Care & Maintenance
For Your TrailDevil
To ensure your TrailDevil UTV remains in peak performance and continues to provide an unforgettable ride, regular maintenance is key. Our commitment to quality doesn't stop at the build—keeping your TrailDevil in top shape ensures you get the most out of your investment.
Routine Maintenance Tips:
Tire Care
Before and after each ride, inspect your tires for uneven wear, punctures, gouges, cuts, or tears. If you notice uneven wear on the front tires, it's time to rotate them to the rear.
Thanks to our internal balancing material, there's no need for external balancing. Refer to your TrailDevil Owner Packet for recommended rotation patterns. Always check air pressure before riding and adjust based on the terrain.
Wheels (beadlock)
After your first 50–100 miles, re-torque the beadlock bolts on the outer lip of the wheel to 12 ft-lb. After that, check them every 1,000 miles. If you ever remove the beadlock bolts, apply anti-seize compound before reinstalling to prevent damage. For cleaning, use mild soap and water to protect the finish.
Fluid Checks
Follow your manufacturer's break-in recommendations—usually found in the owner’s manual. We suggest avoiding wide-open throttle for at least the first 20 hours or 150 miles. After break-in, replace all fluids using manufacturer-recommended oil weight and specifications. Always check fluid levels before and after rides to extend vehicle life.
Filter
Check your air filter after every ride. Remove it to inspect both the filter and the throttle body for signs of dust intrusion. Even a clean-looking filter can allow dust into your engine, significantly reducing engine life. TrailDevil does not modify the factory filtration system—follow your manufacturer’s instructions for service.
Brake System
Inspect brakes before and after each ride. Look for damage to rotors, calipers, and brake lines. Ensure brake fluid levels are correct—low levels may indicate a leak or worn brake pads. Surface rust on rotors is normal during storage and will wear off with use.
Suspension and Chassis
After each ride, inspect the suspension and frame for damage or loose bolts. Check around all control arm mounts, radius rod mounts, and shock mounts for signs of cracks near welds or bent brackets. Be sure to inspect each shock for any signs of leaking fluid and check bushings for any slack or signs of wear.
Note your ride height when you first pick up the vehicle; if it changes, many TrailDevil units can be adjusted back to the proper height by your authorized dealer. (Video link coming soon.)
Steering
Visually check all steering components after each ride for worn bushings or torn grease boots. Every 500 miles do a thorough inspection of ball joints, wheel bearings, and tie rod ends by jacking up the vehicle one tire at a time to check for any slack. (Video link coming soon.)
Electrical System
Before every ride check all battery connections and make sure they are tight and clean from debris and corrosion. If your TrailDevil is equipped with a lighting package check all connections on the power distribution box mounted under the hood to ensure they are also clean and clear of debris and corrosion. Visually inspect all harnesses for signs of damage or loose hangers and connections.
Cleaning and Protection
Regularly clean your UTV with mild soap and water, especially after off-road trips. Apply a protective coating to the underbody and suspension components to prevent rust and damage from debris.
